Pre Pass Support Scheme Course

Learning to drive can be just as daunting for the accompanying driver as it is for the learner during private practice. Lancashire County Council’s Road Safety Group has developed the Pre Pass Support Scheme to address this vulnerable group and work towards decreasing the level of risk of road crashes by encouraging and supporting extra practice sessions and thereby improving the driving experience of learner drivers.
The course advises accompanying drivers of what is expected of them when accompanying learners on the road and how to reduce conflicting information being given. The learner driver will also have the opportunity to take part in an interactive Learner driver workshop to help them prepare for their test. This will include observation exercises, hazard perception practice and practical training in the Show-me Tell-me element of the driving test.
Courses are available every Saturday at a dedicated training centre in Leyland and are totally free of charge to all residents of Lancashire.
