Motorcycle Training

Durham BikeWise Motorcycle Training is offered to recently qualified motorcyclists who are moving up to larger machines (typically 400cc plus) and other riders who are returning to motorcycling after a long break. The courses are delivered by ex-police motorcyclists on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis. The course lasts a full day and is vital to anyone moving up to a large machine.

Riders must fit the above categories and also be a resident of County Durham to qualify for a subsidised course. The course can be offered to any rider on a one-to-one basis for full cost. More details are available from Durham County Council’s Road Safety Section or the BikeWise training website.

Ridewell Tees Valley Motorcycle Training Scheme is one of the largest local authority run motorcycle rider development programmes in the UK. Riders complete their CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) and then progress all the way through to engaging in a post test course culminating with a recognised advanced qualification.

Ridewell Tees Valley, formerly known as ‘Cleveland Motorcycle Training Scheme’, delivers training in the Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton Council areas. For further details contact 01642 526732 or 07920 750651 or log onto  www.ridewellteesvalley.co.uk
