Road Safety GB comment on the National Audit Office report on improving road safety
James Gibson, Road Safety GB National Spokesman said of the report:
“Road Safety GB welcomes the findings of the National Audit Office’s report as a positive step towards continuing to improve road safety in this country.
“The report clearly shows there is room for improvement in a range of areas of road safety and we will be studying the report in detail over the coming days to identify how we can contribute further to the debate.
“We feel strongly that improving the safety of vulnerable road users is particularly important. This can only be achieved by every user of the roads taking individual responsibility for their own actions.
“Road Safety GB and its members will continue to work hard to promote improved road safety through education, engineering and enforcement measures and by disseminating positive road safety messages throughout the UK
“Ultimately any life lost on our roads is a tragedy and our ultimate goal is continuing to reduce the numbers of people killed or seriously injured on the roads.”
