Road Safety Week home

Global Road Safety Week 2015 is being held 4-10 May 2015 - click here for background information about the Week.

Road Safety GB is leading the UK's efforts to support Global Road Safety Week 2015. Below is a summary of the planned activities.

Forging relationships: helping road safety practitioners across the world to learn from each other

We have established a database of UK-based road safety practitioners with specific skills and expertise in child road safety, and highlighted practitioners who work with ethnic groups - to enable them to ‘twin’ or ‘partner’ with road safety professionals from similar ethnic groups around the world.

Encouraging people in the UK to support the #SaveKidsLives campaign

At the heart of #SaveKidsLives is a Child Declaration which we want as many people and organisations as possible to 'read', 'sign' and 'show'. It's a very simple process which is fully explained on the #SaveKidsLives website.

Child road safety resources: for use here in the UK and other parts of the world (free to download)

We have produced a series of resources for children which are free to download. The resources include a road safety map of the world, activity sheets and series of cards looking at road risk in various countries around the world.

Resources for educators

These resources comprise a series of simple step-by-step guides to help deliver road safety education on topics including children as pedestrians, children as cyclists, children in cars, children on public transport and peer-to-peer education. They are intended for use by teachers and others working with very limited resources, and quite possibly little or no road safety expertise.

Online discussion forums during the Week itself

Throughout the Week (4-10 May) we will be running a series of discussion forums covering issues relating to child road safety. People from the UK and around the world will be able to join these sessions and ask questions, share experiences, seek advice and exchange ideas.
