Makaton Road Safety resource

The Makaton Road Safety resource is a spiral bound book which was produced in partnership with the Makaton Vocabulary Project to provide basic guidance to road users, their parents, teachers and carers who use Makaton as a means of communication.

Makaton is a unique language programme, using signs, symbols and speech for teaching children and adults who are experiencing language and communication difficulties.

“Road Safety for Makaton Users” uses a combination of clear illustrations, photographs and explanations describing safer crossing places and how to use them in an easy step-by-step manner, making the book an excellent resource, both as a road safety teaching aid and as a source of vocabulary development.
