Local slant to speed campaign

A pupil from Barnes Primary School in Richmond has had his design for a ‘kill your speed’ campaign banner made up professionally and displayed outside the school.

Councillor David Trigg, who visited the school to present Teddy Coward with a goody bag for his efforts, said: “Teddy’s banner is absolutely spot on – a punchy message, simple design and easy to read. It’s worthy of a professional design studio.”

The banner is the first of what will be three winning designs created by Richmond upon Thames pupils. The banners will be put up at schools across the borough on a rota basis.

Sam Merison, principal safety education officer, added: “Our junior safety officers are always keen get involved and add a local slant to national campaigns.”
