900,000 young drivers have no insurance

A new study by the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) shows that around 900,000 drivers under the age of 30 are currently driving without insurance.

The MIB study also shows that one in 10 drivers aged 18-34 years are unaware that car insurance is a legal requirement.

To combat this, the MIB has launched its ‘Stay Insured’ campaign, targeting drivers who may be wavering when it comes to renewing their insurance policies due to increased financial pressures.  The campaign is being fronted by Natalie Pinkham, host of ‘You’re Nicked’ and ‘Police Interceptors’.

The Stay Insured campaign highlights the consequences of driving without insurance which include: vehicle seizure by police, six licence penalty points, and a £200 penalty.
