Spike makes TV debut

Redcar and Cleveland's road safety mascot ‘Spike’ is starring in a new TV advert being shown in all the council's buildings, GP surgeries and on You Tube.

The advert highlights the dangers of crossing the road and Spike delivers the Stop, Look and Listen message.

Councillor Mary Lanigan said: "Children love Spike, so to give him a voice has been a fantastic way to let him interact with people.

"Although Spike brings a fun element to road safety, we do hope that the campaign makes people think twice about where they are playing and crossing. It only takes a few moments to stop, look and listen."
