Cambridgeshire bikers enjoy bacon butty and a cuppa
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Road Safety Partnership organised a bike to work event as part of International Motorcycle Week (12-18 July).
Around 50 riders made their way into Cambridge, escorted by Police Bikesafe riders, before assembling at Parkside Fire Station for a bacon butty and a cuppa.
RSOs were on hand to promote safety messages and dispense safety related items and several local councillors also took part in the event, which is part of an on-going campaign in Cambridgeshire to improve motorcycle safety.
Riders were also invited to sign up to the police led Bikesafe initiative which encourages riders to take further education in preparation for advanced rider training.
Steve Merrett, RSO with Cambridgeshire County Council, said: "Motorcycling has major benefits and casualty rates are improving.
“Safety experts in Cambridgeshire have been targeting improving the skills of riders and last year there was a 17% drop in the number of rider KSIs.”
