Academy courses receive C&G Accreditation
Two more Road Safety GB Academy courses have attained the prestigious City and Guilds Accreditation.
Both the one-day Behaviour Change Course and the Client Centred Learning (CCL) Course for ADIs have been Accredited, following in the footsteps of the Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Course which was awarded Accreditation in December 2014.
All three Accredited courses were developed by the Academy in partnership with Ian Edwards of eDriving Solutions.
The Behaviour Change Course is designed to give road safety practitioners an insight into the world of behavioural change models and techniques, and how interventions can be developed that will look at the underlying issues associated with risk-related behaviour, and ultimately collisions.
The two-day Client Centred Learning (CCL) Course equips driving instructors with the skills required to meet the DVSA’s new Standards Check which was introduced in April 2014.
Sam Merison, director of the Road Safety GB Academy, said: “This is excellent news, and independent verification of the quality of these two courses.
“I would like to thank Cheryl Evans, the Academy’s head of training, and Ian Edwards who worked with us to develop these two courses and the Foundation course – it is their hard work that has led to this Accreditation and pushed us further along the path towards the holy grail of standardisation in road safety delivery.
“With five new courses currently being piloted, these are exciting times for the Academy. There has been significant interest in these new courses– which cover data, evaluation, social media, social marketing and media - and all the early indications are that they will prove to be a very popular and useful addition to our portfolio.”
The Behaviour Change Course is being held in Leicester on 18 February and Birmingham on 11 March, with places still available for both. However, a course being held in Preston on 4 April is already fully subscribed. The course fee is £110 (+ VAT) for Road Safety GB and Academy members and £170 (+VAT) for non-members.
The next Client Centred Learning Course takes place in Northallerton, North Yorkshire on 1-2 March. The course costs £140 plus VAT which includes one-year membership to the Academy.
There is also a CCL ‘Train the Trainer’ Course - which equips road safety teams to deliver the CCL course - being held in Newbury on 12-13 April. The fee for this course is £250 plus VAT.
