Timely reminders in Devon

Devon County Council has won consent to erect maximum speed reminder panels at rural accident blackspots (Surveyor 04/06/09).

The panels show speed limits against silhouettes of an HGV, a car towing a caravan, and a car on its own. They warn drivers of faster-moving vehicles to be patient when stuck behind slower ones. As the panels are not official road signs, the county had to gain planning permission from Mid-Devon District Council.
