'Cool clothing' competition launched

1 reader has commented on this story

Leeds City Council, in conjunction with Bulletproof clothing and Leeds College of Art and Design, has launched a competition for fashion design students to design cool yet protective clothing for young scooter riders.

The brief was set on 21 May and the winning designs will be judged in November. Bulletproof clothing, who already produce a line of armoured hoodies, have committed to put the winning designs into a limited production run.

For further information contact David Glanville on 0113 247 5804.

Readers comments:

If by cool we mean fashionable, that is a step in the right direction, Young people are image conscious and will not wear 'naff' protective clothing. If we mean literally cool then again this is a good move as warm weather and protective, waterproof motorcycling clothing is a design challenge so I wish Leeds CC and Bulletproof good luck. Please keep me posted.
