Motorcycle safety show heralded a success

The Heart of England Bike Show has been heralded a success after more than 4,000 motorcycling enthusiasts attended the free one day event at the Heritage Motor Centre on 9 May.

The show was funded by Warwickshire Road Safety Partnership and supported by BikeSafe, with the aim of giving local motorcyclists easy access to free and subsidised rider training courses, as well as guided ride-outs on the day.

Stephen Rumble, Warwickshire RSO, said: “30 BikeSafe officers were kept busy all day as motorcyclists lined up to participate in one-to-one ride-outs. This demonstrates that many bikers appreciate the value of constantly improving their road skills; it would be great if all road users thought to do the same.

“The support offered by six police forces, RoSPA, IAM, the Highways Agency and Driving Standards Agency, together with the motorcycling industry, proved that there are a whole host of organisations and individuals with the well-being of bikers at heart. This was a great success and we are already planning next year’s event.“

Nice day out and a good intended one off. Perhaps there has been a follow on. I hope so otherwise it was as I said 'a nice day out'
