Spike's poster spells out car seat safety

Redcar and Cleveland's road safety mascot, Spike, is making sure children are sitting comfortably - and safely - in their cars.

The council's road safety team has designed a wallchart which provides all the information parents need to choose the correct child seats and car restraints.

The poster features Spike showing the height of 135cms - the legal minimum height for children under 12 before they can travel in a car secured by the car seat belt only.

The posters will be in all the Borough's primary schools, libraries, doctors' surgeries and children's centres.
