Conference - background informationThe 2011 conference, held at The Queen Hotel, Chester in November 2011 was fully subscribed and a resounding success. More than 200 delegates and 20 exhibitors attended, and it is anticipated that similar numbers will attend in 2012.The 2012 event is being hosted by Road Safety GB London region and will be held at The Britannia International Hotel, Canary Wharf, 14-15 November 2012. The event is being promoted to more than 200 local authority road safety teams, police forces, fire services and government departments and other stakeholders including the DfT, PACTS and the Highways Agency etc. An exhibition will run alongside the conference with around 20-25 companies expected to participate. The conference will comprise three sessions on the afternoon of Wednesday 14 November, and the morning and afternoon of Thursday 15 November. The project team anticipates being in a position to publish an outline conference agenda during March 2012. Why is Road Safety GB seeking commercial partners for the conference?In order to make the event affordable as possible in these financially constrained times, delegate rates for Road Safety GB members will be heavily subsidised.To make the event viable at the subsidised rates, Road Safety GB is looking to raise sponsorship funding to cover the costs of staging the conference. In 2011 three organisations – Colas, Enterprise and Hermes – jointly sponsored the event. What will the partners get for their investment?First, by association, you will be providing support to Road Safety GB and playing an important part in helping ensure the success of this important event – not just this year, but in future years as well.Perhaps most importantly, you will be helping to extend understanding of road safety issues, and providing support to road safety professionals in their work to reduce crashes and casualties.
